Founding Firm Pilot · Readiness and setup

A clear plan before working data.

Check the Mac, mailbox, review process, and CSV workflow together. Pilot access is by request.

Current availability

Updated September 19, 2026. Applications are open; pilot activation is pending a supported mailbox connector and release testing. The inspected signed release uses Legacy Outlook for Mac automation and requires guided setup. A Microsoft Graph version is not available as a verified release. The installer remains available only through an arranged handoff after the required checks.

Microsoft says Legacy Outlook for Mac will stop connecting to Exchange Online mailboxes starting October 2026. We therefore cannot promise a full 30-day Microsoft 365 pilot on the existing connector. We will confirm a supported workflow before scheduling an activation. Read Microsoft’s Legacy Outlook notice.

The pilot terms

The planned Founding Firm Pilot is $0 for 30 days, covering one attorney, one Microsoft 365 mailbox, guided setup, and one agreed reviewed-CSV workflow. The 30 days begin after setup. There is no automatic billing; any paid continuation requires a separate written agreement. Our application response target is within two business days.

What we check with you

  • Mac: the prepared release requires Apple silicon and macOS 26 or newer. We confirm memory, storage, local software requirements, and your firm’s device policies before arranging setup.
  • Mailbox: one authorized Microsoft 365 mailbox, agreed folders and date range, and a connector that remains supported for the pilot period. The existing release’s Legacy Outlook dependency needs resolution before activation.
  • Local setup: the app includes its interface and engine. The guided release requires separate setup of the local database, model services, and model files.
  • Review owner: the attorney who will check every proposed client, matter, duration, narrative, and billing code.
  • CSV handoff: the receiving system’s identifiers, required fields, date and number formats, and duplicate-handling process.

Your application can describe the software and workflow you use. Please keep client names, mailbox contents, credentials, and matter details out of the website form.

How guided setup will work

  1. Agree the scope. Confirm terms, one mailbox, folder/date limits, the reviewer, support contact, and export mapping in writing.
  2. Complete release and compatibility checks. The team verifies the exact installer and supported connector before handoff. A signed installer alone does not establish that the complete workflow works on a new customer Mac.
  3. Provision local processing. Arrange the app, local database and model services, secure local credentials, and the client/matter roster. The prepared guided release needs this separate setup.
  4. Start with synthetic data. Check roster validation and repeat import, approve/correct/reject decisions, saved state after restart, and export totals. Use the fictional roster CSV as a format example.
  5. Confirm permissions and start the pilot. Connect working data only after those checks, the supported connector, and the agreed boundaries are confirmed. Record the setup-complete date as day one.

Understand the permissions

The inspected release reads through AppleScript automation of Legacy Outlook for Mac. macOS Automation permission allows local control of Outlook; the agreed intake reads mailbox activity. This permission boundary differs from Microsoft Graph consent. Any replacement connector’s permissions must be documented and agreed before use.

Local analysis has no cloud-language-model fallback. Outlook’s existing mailbox synchronization, your firm’s backups, exported files, and any approved support session have their own data boundaries. Read the security and data-flow page before connecting working data.

Measure the pilot against your existing process

Choose the review period and keep an export of time already recorded for that period. Use the same baseline when comparing results. Track the following each week:

MeasureWhat to record
Reviewed and approved hoursHours the attorney confirms are accurate and appropriate after corrections.
Additional approved hoursThe subset absent from the baseline after checking duplicate and overlapping work.
Corrections and rejectionsNumber of reviewed entries changed or rejected, with categories such as matter, duration, narrative, or nonbillable work.
Review effortMinutes spent reviewing and correcting. Record setup and troubleshooting time separately.
CSV handoffWhether the agreed sample mapping passed and whether counts and hours reconciled.

Compare additional approved hours with review effort to decide whether the workflow helps. Draft time, suggested amounts, and approved hours are not collected revenue. Billing approval, invoice delivery, and payment are separate outcomes. We will not publish a case study or a firm’s results without measured evidence and permission.

At the end of the pilot

Review the scorecard together, save the exports you need, and decide whether to continue under a separate agreement. Agree how to stop mailbox access and retain or remove the local database, credentials, model files, and backups. Removing the app alone does not remove those separately configured components.
